Black Reign is the third studio album by American Hip hop female artist Queen Latifah. It was released in November 16, 1993 under Motown Records. Recording sessions took place at Giant Recording Studios, Skyline Studios and Unique Recording Studios in New York City from November 1992 to September 1993. Production was handled by S.I.D., Tony Dofat, Kay Gee, Mufi and Queen Latifah herself. It includes guest appearances from Treach, KRS-One, Heavy D and Tony Rebel.
The album debuted at #60 on the Billboard 200 and #15 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts in the United States. Black Reign was her most successful album up to that point, also sold in excess of 500,000 copies in its first week, achieving gold status. Black Reign released the singles: "U.N.I.T.Y.", "Just Another Day...", "Black Hand Side", "I Can't Understand" and "Weekend Love". Music videos also were released for all five songs.
