Black Hippy is an American hip hop group from South Central, Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 2009 and composed of West Coast rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q. Black Hippy was constructed after all of its members were signed to Carson-based independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment.
Although Black Hippy is yet to release a full-length project as a group, the members are frequent collaborators and regularly appear and contribute to each other's solo projects. Member ScHoolboy Q has stated that it is doubtful that the group will ever release an album in the near future as each member is focused on building their solo career.
