Christopher Lee Rios (10 November 1971 - 7 February 2000), better known by his stage name Big Pun, was an American rapper and actor of Puerto Rican background. Big Pun emerged from the underground hip hop scene in The Bronx borough of New York City in the mid-1990s. Pun's rapping style is notable for its technical efficiency, minimal pauses to take a breath, and heavy use of alliteration, as well as internal and multi-syllabic rhyming schemes.

Pun first appeared on albums from The Beatnuts and Fat Joe, prior to signing to Loud Records as a solo artist. He released his debut album, Capital Punishment, in 1998 and became the first album by a solo Latino rapper to go platinum, peaking at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. As a member of Terror Squad, he contributed to their debut album, The Album, in 1999.

Pun struggled with weight problems for all of his adult life. His weight fluctuated in the early 1990s between obese and morbidly obese. On 7 February 2000, Big Pun suffered a fatal heart attack and respiratory failure while staying with his family at a Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, New York. Pun was pronounced dead at the hospital after paramedics could not revive him. His second album, Yeeeah Baby, was completed after his death and released in April 2000.
