Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. (born November 15, 1988), known professionally as B.o.B, is an American rapper and record producer from Decatur, Georgia. He began his career as a teenager and signed a major-label deal with Atlantic Records and Grand Hustle Records in 2007. Simmons quickly rose to fame in 2009 after his commercial debut single, "Nothin' on You" featuring Bruno Mars, reached number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. His third single, "Airplanes" featuring Hayley Williams, also topped major music charts. Simmons' debut studio album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, was released in 2010 and reached number one on the US Billboard 200.

Simmons' second album, Strange Clouds, was released in 2012 and spawned four singles that charted well internationally. His third album, Underground Luxury, was released in 2013 and supported by the lead single "HeadBand" featuring 2 Chainz. It would be his last album released on Atlantic Records as he founded his own record label, Label No Genre, in 2014. Simmons' fourth album, Ether, was released in 2017 and became his first album to not chart in the top 25 of the US Billboard 200 when it peaked at 179. His following four albums were all released independent and failed to chart.
