B.G. Knocc Out was sentenced to ten to twelve years in prison for gang-related attempted murder in 1998. While in prison, he converted to Islam and changed his name before being released early in August 2006. In September 2007, he was incarcerated again for parole violation and was released two years later. In 2011, he released his debut solo album, ''[[Eazy-E's Protege]]''. He had plans to release another album sometime in 2012, but it was canceled when he quit the music business after making Hajj to Mecca.
