Act Like You Know is the third studio album by American Hip hop artist MC Lyte. It was released in September 17, 1991 under First Priority Music and distributed by Atlantic Records. Recording sessions took place at Red Chamber Studios in Sherman Oaks, Skip Saylor Recording in Hollywood and at Firehouse Studios, Power Play Studios, Studio With A View and First Priority Labs in New York City from October 1990 to May 1991. The production was provided by Richard Wolf, Epic Mazur, DJ Doc, The King of Chill, Pal Joey 2, Audio Two, The 45 King and DJ Master Tee.
The album peaked at #102 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and #14 on the Top R&B Albums chart. Act Like You Know spawned the singles: "Poor Georgie" and "When in Love", which both made it high on the Hot Rap Singles chart with "When in Love" peaking at #3 and "Poor Georgie" reaching #1 and also cracked the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #83.
