2000 is the second studio album by American rapper and Brand Nubian member Grand Puba. It was released on June 20, 1995 through Elektra Records. Recording sessions took place at Soundtrack Studios, Platinum Island Studios, Battery Studios, V. Dubbs Studios, Acme Recording Studios, Fiber Studios and Chung King Studios in New York City from June 1994 to February 1995. Production was handled by Mark Sparks, Minnesota, DJ Alamo, Chris Liggio and Dante Ross. The album peaked at #48 on the Billboard 200 and at #5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in the United States.
The album spawned two singles: "I Like It (I Wanna Be Where You Are)" and "A Little of This". Its lead single, "I Like It (I Wanna Be Where You Are)", reached #91 on the Billboard Hot 100, #68 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #21 on the Hot Rap Songs, and was featured in the soundtrack for the video game Tony Hawk's Underground 2. The album's second single, "A Little of This" features backing vocals from Kid (of Kid 'n Play), made it to #90 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and also #21 on the Hot Rap Songs.
